Disturbing Prayer
The staff at Crossroads are formulating goals for the new ministry year right now. As I've been contemplating my own goals, I ran across this prayer by Sir Francis Drake: "Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrive safely because we have sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us, Lord."
It's a scary prayer...but a good one. I know I sail too close to the shore too often. I want to push off into deeper water. I want to allow God to disturb me with a bigger dream and vision of what he wants to see happen at Crossroads. So, I'm praying the prayer..."disturb me, Lord."
I dare you to do the same.
