WWJD?

Ok, it's almost Election Day. Here's my question: If Jesus was living in our town right now, would he go to the voting booth next Tuesday and vote? Should we?

I was conflicted how to respond myself. We're not told to vote in the Bible (but then we're not told to brush our teeth either). I voted yesterday. I thought it was the right thing to do. I know our ultimate citizenship is in heaven--but right now we're on earth--right now I'm an American citizen and I want to be a responsible one. I also figured if I didn't vote I couldn't whine about what politicians do!! So, I tried to line my votes up with the issues and candidates who best line up with the things that matter to God. That was tough to do (in our sound bite world), but I did my best.

pastor phil -
you indeed did your best. the only better thing would be if we could follow Jesus in the booth, peak over His shoulder & cast the same votes!

i don't know about anyone else, but i can't seem to get the supernatural 'mind of christ' or 'word of knowledge' on things like who is the best candidate or what stocks to invest in!

i guess that would go hand-in-hand with our need as kingdom people to be as shrewd as those of the world!
