Starting Dec. 30-31 and going for 4 weekends we will be in a new series called "Batteries Included". This series is all about understanding and tapping into the power of the Holy Spirit. In putting this series together we realized how few messages we've done on the Third Person of the trinity. Our bad. We hope to correct that.
Trying to live the Christian life without the power of the Holy Spirit is an exercise in futility. That's why most New Year's resolutions don't work...new year but same old "me".

I'm very excited about this series, however 4 weekends could never be enough to even scratch the surface on this topic.
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is indeed critical for us to understand. The proper use of the gifts of the Spirit are what I believe is lacking in the effective witness of the Church as a whole. This ministry of course, plays a crucial part in the great commission (Mk 16:15-18). Sadly, it seems that the power of the Holy Spirit is either over or under emphasized in the Church, but rarely properly demonstrated & taught. This must be very important stuff, since it seems to be a priority of the hosts of hell to keep it from our grasps!
It would be a great service for the teachers of CR to consistently emphasize the process of the regeneration (new birth) of our spirits through faith in the grace of Christ, as well as the ministry & gifts of the Holy Spirit! If we are currently considered a "crazy" church prior to this emphasis, what is our potential thereafter?
