Post-Thanksgiving musings

It's easy to be thankful on Thanksgiving--food, football, and family! The rest of the year...is a different story. One thing that's helped me is to go back to the first "Thanksgiving". It came a year after the first pilgrims had landed here. Due to a brutal winter, only 50 of the original 102 pilgrims survived. On the first anniversary, these pilgrims debated whether they should observe a "day of mourning" or a "day of thanksgiving". They decided to focus on what they had going FOR them and not on what they had going AGAINST them.

I guess that's our choice every day. There's always something to be thankful for.
